Focused Healing, Fewer Sessions

Traditional weekly therapy can take years to process a single traumatic event that may be coloring how you feel. EMDR Intensive Therapy offers a different path — one that compresses that work into focused, immersive sessions designed to move you past the trauma rather than around it.

I offer EMDR Intensives because I believe that Intensives offer an effective and compassionate way to help people heal from single-incident trauma. Many people have limited time but still want to do the work to feel better. Every intensive is designed around you — your history, your nervous system, your goals. We may have as few as 3 sessions (1.5 hours each) or more, depending upon your needs. An EMDR intensive is a focused, extended session designed around your individual needs. No two people experience it the same way. Some clients have rapid insights and shifts, while others move more gradually, and both are normal. As we work, it’s also common for the focus to shift as new themes emerge. Outcomes vary from person to person, and I can’t promise a specific result, but my aim is to help you feel informed, supported, and prepared at every step.

What Is EMDR?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a structured, evidence-based therapy that helps the brain reprocess traumatic memories. Rather than talking through what happened in detail, EMDR uses bilateral stimulation — traditionally using eye movements (now often using a tactile approach)— to help the nervous system complete the processing it was unable to finish at the time of the trauma.

The result is not forgetting — it is a shift in how the memory is held. Events that once felt raw, present, and overwhelming become part of the past, where they belong. Most clients describe a profound sense of relief and a return to themselves.

What Makes It Intensive?

Deep Work, Concentrated Time

As opposed to traditional talk therapy, EMDR Intensive sessions are focused and condensed. We will work together to resolve a particular traumatic event.  Intensive sessions with me are generally 1.5 hours each. We may meet for as few as 3-12 extended weekly or bi-weekly sessions — depending upon your needs.

This format works because trauma processing benefits from continuity. When we can stay with the material, your nervous system can move through it more completely. Many clients experience significant relief after three intensive sessions.

        Rates & Insurance

EMDR Intensive Therapy is offered on a private-pay basis. Because intensives are longer and more focused than standard sessions, they are priced accordingly — and most clients find they spend less overall than they would in months or years of weekly therapy.

I do not bill insurance directly, but I can provide a superbill for clients who wish to seek reimbursement from their out-of-network benefits. I encourage you to contact your insurance provider to understand your out-of-network coverage before we begin.
